DSSSB Translator Hindi Eligibility and syllabus

The Delhi Subordinate Services Selection Board (DSSSB) conducts recruitment exams for various posts in the Government of NCT of Delhi, its departments, and autonomous bodies. DSSSB releases notifications for teaching, non-teaching, technical, and administrative positions across multiple departments. It releases multiple recruitment notifications including Hindi Translator throughout the year for different posts.

DSSSB releases vacancies for Translator (Hindi) when required.

Educational Qualification –

Master’s Degree of a recognized University in Hindi with English as a compulsory or elective subject or as the medium of examination at the degree level;

OR

Master’s Degree of a recognized University in English with Hindi as a compulsory or elective subject or as the medium of examination at the degree level;

OR

Master’s Degree of a recognized University in any subject other than Hindi or English with Hindi Medium and English as a compulsory or elective subject or as the medium of a examination at the degree level;

OR

Master’s Degree of a recognized University in any subject other than Hindi or English with English medium and Hindi as a compulsory or elective subject or as the medium of a examination at the degree level;

OR

Master’s Degree of a recognized University in any subject other than Hindi or English with Hindi and English as a compulsory or elective subjects or either of the two as a medium of examination and the other as a compulsory or elective subject at the degree level;

Desirable

  • Knowledge of Hindi Terminology  

  • Terminological and Lexographical work involving use of Modern Indian Language other than Hindi. 

Experience

Recognized Diploma or Certificate course in translation from Hindi to English and vice versa, or two-year experience of translation work from Hindi to English and vice versa in Central or State Government Office, including Government of India undertaking.

Pay Scale

  • Rs 35400- 112400, Pay Level - 6 Group ‘B’, Non-Gazetted, Non-Ministerial

  • Age - Not exceeding 30 years, Age Relaxation will be given as per the reservation rule.

  • Two-tier technical

  • Tier – I Exam – 2 Hrs. (MCQs)

  • Total Questions – 200

  • Total Marks – 200

  • Section - A

  • General Awareness – 20 Marks

  • General Intelligence & Reasoning ability – 20 Marks

  • Arithmetical & Numerical Ability 20 Marks

  • Test of Hindi Language & Comprehension – 20 Marks

  • Test of English Language & Comprehension – 20 Marks

Section – B

  • Subject/Qualification related paper -100 marks for 100 MCQs

  • Tier – II (MCQs)

  • Total Questions – 200

  • Total Marks - 200

  • Subject /Qualification Related Paper - 150 Marks for 150 MCQs

  • English Language & Comprehension - 50 Marks for 50 MCQs


Note - Tier – I is only qualifying in nature and used for short listing only. Further selection will be made on the basis of cumulative merit/marks obtained in Tier-II examination.

Negative Marking will be applicable and deduction of 0.25 marks will be made for each wrong MCQ answer.
